1988 Porsche 930 Turbo Targa
SOLD
One of only 28 right hand drive 930 Turbos that were built in 1988 in Targa form, this example is in outstanding condition. The type 930 turbo or more often known as simply ‘turbo’ was distinguished from the regular model by a turbo charged flat-six engine, flared wheel arches to accommodate wider wheels and of course the iconic “whale tail” rear spoiler.
Supplied new via Roger Clark Cars Ltd in early ’88 to David George, the founder of Sloane Helicopters. Finished in silver metallic, a slightly softer hue than the more common Arctic with a contrasting dark blue leather interior. The sports seats were electrically operated and also heated.
All the handbooks are present in their maroon folder with the maintenance book stamped regularly and frequently which along with the MOT’s support the mileage. Just under 40,000 miles was covered by 2008 and since then only a further two owners and with the present owner since 2012, it’s still less than 43,000 miles!
Upon his purchase the Turbo Targa was checked over at Porsche Stuttgart before joining a collection of other air cooled gems. During his ownership it has been barely used though was serviced just prior to delivery to us.
Truly best of both worlds motoring, one can remove the very snug fitting roof in seconds, fold in half and place in the front compartment to experience the open air feel without any excessive buffeting. There is also a very effective climate control for any seasons.
Presenting in extremely original and unmodified condition throughout the Turbo Targa is accompanied by all its manuals, guarantee and maintenance, master plus policy, driver’s manual and the international service directory. There is also a tool roll, jack, spare tyre and inflator. Really impressive, doesn’t drive, look or present like a 35 year old car!
