1967 Jaguar E Type 4.2 litre roadster
SOLD
With the pure lines of the early cars though incorporating great improvements to its overall driving experience the series 1 4.2 Litre is a great choice for the enthusiast that intends to use.
Manufactured on 10th March 1967 and registered in May to a Mr Walker in London this charmingly original roadster has had just a handful of owners from new. The second owner treated himself on Christmas Eve 1976 (the invoice is in the file) and stayed with his family until selling to the previous owner in 1995.
Presented in its original colour combination of Old English White with contrasting red leather interior it has developed a patina that truly demonstrates a 'used but loved’ ethos throughout its life. Indeed, the driving experience is one of utter enjoyment with silky smooth power and light steering. The body work is not concours but is in keeping with the overall feel. The interior is still supple and soft and just wearing through on the upper edge of the drivers seat. The hood may well be original and is uniformly faded yet fits like a glove.
An interesting history file accompanies the car with good records of old MOT’s, service work including much chassis work in 2013 and previous mechanical overhauls.
It's becoming increasingly rare to find original matching numbers, right hand drive 4.2 roadsters that haven’t been abused over the years and its honesty is quite refreshing.
